Plato was one the ancient worlds greatest philosophers. He studied under his mentor Socrates and went on to teach the great philosopher Aristotle. He founded a school of philosophy called the Academy. His ideas form much of the bedrock of Western thought. His contributions to philosophy, political thought and science are immeasurable.
